It has been 10 years since the last retro of Black/Infrared (2000) and 20 years since the last release of White/Infrared (1990). Although the Black/Varsity Red was retroed few months ago in January and White/Varsity Red will be available in this June, to many Jordan fans, they aren’t that “Originals” indeed since the iconic 6′s Infrared colors were replaced by Varsity Red. However, Nike is giving everyone surprise, both Infrared pairs will be released as a limited quickstrike pack in June.
Possibly the most anticipated shoe release so far this year is the Air Jordan 6 Infrared Pack. The pack will contain 2 pairs of shoes, the White/Infrared and Black/Infrared Jordan 6 and special packaging. We got this pack from Nike HK officially. This is the exact packaging when they hit retails.
The Infrared pack will be packaged in a double-layered boxing construction on all-matte-black exterior. While the interior of the box is fully infrared. In addition, both pairs of shoes are wrapped by anti-static bags which usually use on the packaging of computer components such as motherboard and hard drive. These anti-static bags provide extra protection to diminish the oxidization process.
Don’t mislead by other pictures of Infrared 6′s/Varsity Red 6′s off our site since most pictures on the web can’t display the correct colors on the actual products. We have done color management for all of our product shots since few years ago.
Scroll down a bit you can see the comparison pictures between Infrared and Varsity Red. We’re not disappointing you but the fact is there are no significant differences between these two colors, what you see are what you get on hand. In terms of RGB color mode, the Infrared color is tend to yellow while the Varsity Red color is tend to blue on the same color channel.
Surprisingly, the most significant differences between them aren’t the color variations, but the color placements on the Air Bubble Units. The Infrared pairs use white air units which are the same color found on the OGs while the Varsity Red pairs use varsity red.
If you are one die hard fans of Michael Jordan or collector, it is recommend to cop the Infrared Pack to complete your collection materialistically and mentally, as well as commemorate MJ’s first championship, first NBA regular and Finals MVP awards in 1990-91 NBA season. Else you may go for the normal Varsity Red 6′s since it is hard to tell the differences when you rock it on your foot.
The Infrared Pack will launch in Hong Kong and United States on June 19th. (Limited QS)
