Denim has been used on sneaker successfully since the 1st Denim Dunk SB and Medicom 2 Black Denim SB, though they only use the material but not the “design”. And this is very first Nike sneakers with “true” Selvage Denim design featuring brown, white and red stitching, copper rivets, pocket flag and leather tag.
The shoe features 2 different colors of blue denim on the upper and leather on the toe cap and back heel with brown stitches. Red and white stitches are also used on the back heel which we call it “redline” which is a selvage from top to bottom in the inside of the outside leg seam, they are made from superior denim, heavier than the stuff you buy nowadays.
A copper rivet can also be found on the back heel which uses to strengthen the pocket on the denim. And here, as a design or strengthen the structure of the shoe.
At the upper side of the heel, there is a brand flag with “NSW”, Nike Sportswear’s short form, and a leather tag on the tongue which also close to the original taste of Selvage Denim.
We are expecting to see this hot and must get pair coming out in 2009 Summer to Fall.
